Baby Got Back

I must confess, everytime this song comes on the radio, I sing along with gusto. I don't know ALL the words, but I know well over half. I've liked this song since it first came out (the video's pretty fun to watch, too). My dad and I used to dance around the living room to it whenever it would come on Mtv (if you can picture that).

Trivia tidbit: Sir Mix-a-Lot is originally from Tacoma, WA. So this song gets played on a lot of radio stations up here. Plus, it's one of the best rap songs OF ALL TIME. Can you peeps still in Oklahoma say the same of anything by Color Me Badd? DIDN'T THINK SO!

So anyway, it just now came on the radio on my way home from work, and I was singing along and doing my little shoulder-shakin' chair dance, and I pull up to a stoplight. I glance around (still singing along to the song) to see if anyone is noticing how goofy I'm being. A burgundy Toyota Corolla just slightly ahead of me in the left lane has a skinny blonde chick in it. One of those straight-laced "I shop at Old Navy but still manage to look like a million bucks" types.

She is singing along to the song, too.

Let's hear it for skinny blonde chicks who can sing, "So your girlfriend rolls a Honda, playing workout tapes by Fonda, but Fonda ain't got a motor in the back of her Honda, my Anaconda don't want none unless you got BUNS, hon!"

You've probably already seen this, but it's quite funny.

Oh yes, they used to play that on the Christian station back home! So hilarious, yet so...wrong.

On so many levels.

I encourage everyone to go check out that video!

Well, Oklahoma did give us Hanson. Don't you think "Baby Got Back" and "Mmmm Bop" are equally catchy?

Whoa. As I was reading this post, a new Target commercial came on...with a Baby Got Back parody!

And THEN, RIGHT AFTER I WROTE THAT, there was a blurb about Hanson on the show I was watching!!

Slow Motion, I Wanna Sex You Up, I Adore Mi Amor... I'm just cracking up that you thought of them at all!

I've just got this sudden, uncontrollable urge to point out that Sir Mix-A-Lot is from Tacoma, not Seattle.

T-Town forever! ;)

Thanks for the correction. Duly noted, and rectified.

I saw Color Me Badd in concert and then went to their Hotel afterward to meet them. I was such a dork.
